- How do I make a listing?
In order to make a listing you need to firstly sign up. You will then be asked to activate your account via email. Once you have done this, you simply click on 'Sell Your Pieces' and you can make as many listings as you like.
When completing the information for the piece, make sure to click on the inventory button. This will then allow you to sell it as a one- off piece. If you do not click this button, SOTA will assume that you have replicas of the piece to sell.
To maximise the opportunities for your pieces to be found by customers, make sure to add key words into your description of the piece e.g. the name of the category it is in (paintings/ ceramics/ photography) etc plus the medium and the content of the piece.
SOTA uses Stripe to collect payments and charges 6% upon purchases.
- Do you have any hidden fees?
No, we have no hidden fees, no monthly fees, no sign-up fees, no contracts.
- Do you demand exclusivity?
No, as our aim is to empower artists and sellers.
- Someone has bought my art, how long until I can see the funds in my account?
Stripe payments can take up to 7 days to arrive in your account. This is to protect both buyers and sellers against fraud. Using PayPal instead could take longer than this.
- What is the buyer's fee?
The buyer's fee covers fraud protection and enables secure transactions via the Stripe payment gateway. It also allows SOTA to investigate, arbitrate and carry out refund requests should this be necessary.
- What countries do you support?
Our payment gateway Stripe supports transactions in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States.
- What currency do you transact in?
We transact in GBP as we are based in the UK and conversion rates depend on which currencies are supported by Stripe which can be found at https://stripe.com/docs/currencies.
