Having grown up between the bush lands and beaches of South Africa, she has an ingrained connection to the natural world and finds it a constant source of inspiration for her pieces. Over the past eight years she has frequented the Norfolk coast, which also features in her artworks.

Carmen works in oil and acrylic paint, combining a realistic approach, expressive brush strokes and textured layers to relay the soul and energy of a subject.
