About this listing
This piece presents a cement mixer in half motion. I rotated the image of the cement mixer in order to create movement. When I am on the building site supporting my Dad this piece of equipment is always on the go. I am trying to incorporate this observation in the form of a work of art.
I used cement and building sand to create mortar a mix most commonly used for building walls and laying patios. I firstly covered this whole image with the mortar mix before I started to chip away at the surface revealing the image once more. I then used a builders PVA admix adhesive and an Industrial gloss for fixing and holding the mortar in place. I was working with a constructing and deconstructing process, which is used a great deal on the building site.
This piece is paying homage to the cement mixer a crucial piece of equipment for making mortar.
This piece is made from Ink, mortar, PVA admix adhesive, Industrial gloss and it is on heavyweight fine grain cartridge paper fixed to hardboard.
