About this listing
This becomes the story of a romantic figure and heroic failure.
The lifesaver on the wall completes three circles arranged in a triangular form which draw us into the story. The small piercing eye on the Flamingo, the inflated ring which forms the body of the plastic, lifeless buoyancy aid and the static life-saving device attached to the wall.
It juxtaposes the natural world and natural beauty, against the false brightly coloured consumerist article which floats merrily in the light breeze, alluding to some momentary, short-lived satisfaction.
This full-size work is colourful and questioning with none of its allure lost in reproduction.
