About this listing
Cyanotype is the earliest form of photography dating from 1842 and creates a dynamic silhouetted image. I utilise this printing technique is a more experimental form, using it in conjunction with droplets of water and ink, which makes every print unique. I have kept a lot of the background 'noise' and splashes of Cyanotype chemicals as it brings movement and depth to the image.
Flowers are regularly picked from the garden, including this gorgeous Hebe. Strong yet delicate, this shrub explodes each summer with vitality. This multi-branch stem image is on 200 gsm acid free paper with Cyanotype chemicals and inks. The print is signed and year dated on the front. You will note I have provided a room setting image, which is as close to scale as possible but not actual scale.
